George Daniel "Jack" Johnson of Haskell, Texas passed away Wednesday morning, October 16, 2013 in Enid, Oklahoma at Integris-Bass Baptist Hospital. He was 51. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 19, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Knox City with Mr. Philip Sims and Rev. Jose Muniz officiating. Interment will immediately follow the services at Knox City Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.
Visitation is planned for 5:00 p.m., Friday, October 18, 2013 at the funeral home in Knox City located at 210 Avenue A.
"Jack" was born August 29, 1962 in Knox City, Texas to Josephine (Reynolds) Lewis and Garry Johnson. Born and raised in Knox City, he moved to Haskell in 2003 and married Malinda Ruiz on November 4, 2004. "Jack" was a dedicated family man and adored Malinda and his children. He was a hard worker and proud "Texas Oil Man" that took a great deal of pride in his work. "Jack" was a collector of stamps and a member of the Church of Christ in Haskell.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, C.E. and Fannie Mae Johnson; his maternal grandmother, Ida Reynolds; and step-father, Sterling Lewis.
"Jack" is survived by his wife, Malinda Johnson of Haskell; 2 sons, Darren Johnson and Bobby Johnson both of Haskell; daughter, Gloria Johnson of Haskell; grandson, Hayden Johnson of Haskell; mother, Josie Lewis of Knox City; father and step-mother, Garry and Olga Johnson of Knox City; sister, Nonie Maston of Seymour; brother, Clint Lewis of Knox City; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Serving as pallbearers are Greg Maston, Garry Lee Manley, Robert Johnson, Clint Lewis, Jimmy Flye, Bobby Johnson, and Jesse Lopez.
