Gideon William Carmichael, 25, a long time resident of Haskell, TX, passed away Monday, November 20, 2017. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Anson High School Auditorium, with Rev. Cody Cochran officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Haskell.
Gideon was born June 5, 1992 in Stillwater, OK to Beth (Mertz) and Hewitt Carmichael. He was the owner of Carmichael Helicopter Services, and loved to fly. He enjoyed snowboarding, wakeboarding, kite boarding, hunting, fishing, deep sea fishing, and traveling around the country on many hunting expeditions. He loved The Lord, his family, people, music and being in the roping pen. Gideon loved life; he lived it to the fullest, and never said no to any adventure.
He is survived by his parents, Beth and Hewitt Carmichael of Haskell; two sisters, Claire Rice and husband Caleb of Abilene, and Lucy Carmichael of Haskell; brother, Wyatt Carmichael of Haskell; paternal grandmother, Charlene Carmichael of Ponca City, OK; maternal grandmother, Sue Mertz of Ponca City, OK; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his special dog, Cliff.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Bill Carmichael; and maternal grandfather, Forrest Mertz.
