Glenn Norman Davis, longtime resident of Rule, Texas passed away Tuesday evening, September 9, 2014 in Abilene, Texas. Mr. Davis was 65. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Rule with Rev. Scott Hensley officiating. Visitation is planned for Monday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Rule located at 600 Robins. Arrangements were made under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.
Glenn Norman was born in Haskell, Texas on October 23, 1948, to Patsy Lou (Norman) and Jack G. Davis. Once graduating from Rule High School, he went on to the University of Texas of the Premian Basin in Odessa, Texas earning a Master's Degree in Education. Glenn remained at UTPB where he retired years later. Glenn loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed time farming.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Patsy and Jack Davis.
Glenn is survived by his brother, Thomas E. Davis and wife Beverly of Rule; sister, Delle Watkins also of Rule; Nephew, Eric Watkins and wife Raquel of Ft. Worth; great-nephew, Davis Watkins; Aunt, Frances Davis of Rule; cousins, Mark Davis and wife Heidi of Houston and Penny Allen and wife George of Houston; and his special friend, Donna Nelson of Abilene.
