Glenn Lloyd Hudson, "Uncle Hezzy," of Throckmorton, Tx., passed from this world on October 30, 2025, at the of 89. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, November 3, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Throckmorton, Tx., with Rev. Peter Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Bush Knob FM- 923, Throckmorton, Tx., under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Throckmorton. A visitation is planned from 6:00 to 8:00pm, Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the funeral home, 107 N Austin, Throckmorton, Tx.
Glenn arrived into this world in Dawson Co. Tx. 5 miles east of Lamesa in a share croppers shack on the family farm, on a "mild" 110 degree day, June 19, 1936 while awaiting the completion of their permanent home.
Glenn and his family moved to a farm in the community of Bush Knob, Throckmorton County on September 11, 1945. He lived on and worked this farm until 1969 when him and his mother moved to the big city of Throckmorton, but still continued daily to work the farm.
He was a member of Bush Knob Baptist Church, where his father served as a deacon until consolidated with Crestview Baptist in Throckmorton and upon its closing, became a member the First Baptist Church of Throckmorton, Tx.
Glenn spent his life caring for his mother an younger siblings after the death of his father in 1959. He continued to care for his mother until her death in 1994.
Glenn liked caring for his animals on the farm. He was a cattleman but never a cowboy, absolutely no horses. When he was young, he was very small. His dad made him ride the knifes while plowing cotton. He said he was always on the wrong end of a horse.
Glenn was a natural born farmer and loved driving his tractor, plowing and planting his crops until 3 weeks before God took him home.
He is survived by his brother, James Guy Hudson and the Seven J's. His nephew, Troy Glenn Hudson and wife Melissa; great nephews, Travis, Truitt, and Aiden; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jefferson Hudson and Lillian Coon Hudson; brother, Jefferson Charles Hudson, Arlon Westley Hudson, Doyle Thomas Hudson, Donald Ray Hudson, Juel Eugene Hudson; sisters, Edith Cagle Buckalew, Dovie Ethel Crowley, Lillie Belle Cooper, Verna Lois Hudson.
