Gloria Wynelle West, 83, long time resident of Benjamin, Texas passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Good Samaritan Society in Denton, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Benjamin, Texas with Pastor James Jackson officiating and Tracy Cartwright assisting. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Benjamin Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation is planned for Friday evening, from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m, at the funeral home located at 210 Ave., Knox City, Texas.
Gloria was born January 12, 1933 to Thomas T. Lemley and Avis Beatrice (Yarbrough) Lemley.
She worked at the Knox County Court House for 30 years as a County and District Clerk. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Benjamin, Texas. She loved to paint, do pottery, working in her yard and she was a great cook.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas T. Lemley and Avis Beatrice (Yarbrough) Lemley; two husbands, Billy Joe Clower and Leroy West; son, Bud Clower; and sister, Betty Lemley.
Gloria is survived by her two daughters, Cathy Tomlinson and Betty Bowman; son, Robert Clower; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
