Gloriana Hernandez Sosa longtime resident of Knox City, Texas, but most recently of Abilene, Texas, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. Mrs. Sosa was 57. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 21, 2014, at Rochester Cemetery in Rochester, Texas with Rev. Randy Estes officiating. Visitation is planned for Sunday evening from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home located at 200 S. Lincoln in Rochester. Arrangements were made under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.
One of 9 children, Gloriana Hernandez was born March 15, 1957, in Midland, Texas to Carmen (Frusto) and Andres Ramirez Hernandez. She married Jose C. Martinez who has preceded her in death, and later married Jesus Sosa. Gloriana enjoyed cooking, arts and crafts, and crocheting. She loved to sing and was a member of Santa Rosa Catholic Church in Knox City. Mrs. Sosa was a homemaker.
In addition to her first husband, Jose, Gloriana is preceded in death by her parents, Carmen and Andres Hernandez; her sister, Carmen; 2 nephews, Juan Manuel De La Cruz and Jose Antonio Lomali.
Gloriana is survived by her husband Jesus Sosa of Abilene, Texas; daughter, Maria Martinez and husband Michael Flores of Abilene; 2 sons, Flo Martinez and Frank Martinez and wife Hope Ocon, all of Abilene; 3 brothers, Robert Hernandez of Rochester, Texas, Ruben Hernandez of Munday, Texas and Andy Hernandez also of Rochester; 4 sisters, Gregoria De La Cruz of Merkel, Texas, Juanita Carrillo of San Antonio, Texas, Guadalupe Lomali of Rochester, Texas, and Maria Leal of Delion, Texas; 6 grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
