Glynn Hall Davis, 95, of Throckmorton, Texas, passed away Monday, November 4, 2013, in the Christian Care Center in Mesquite, Texas.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 10, 2013, at the Throckmorton Church of Christ. Interment will follow in the Throckmorton Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the funeral home in Throckmorton located at 107 Austin.
Glynn was born July 9, 1918 to Richard and Mamie Hall in Hallsville, Texas. After graduating High School in Hallsville, she attended and graduated from North Texas Teachers College in Denton, Texas. She taught school in Waskum, Texas.
She married Sam Rob Davis of Throckmorton on August 17, 1941. She and Sam lived in Throckmorton for 52 years. In 2006, Glynn moved to Greenway Village at the Christian Care Center in Mesquite, Texas where she enjoyed playing bridge, attending Bible studies and the company of many good friends.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Throckmorton where she taught Sunday school and Ladies Bible Class. She was a member of the 39 Study Club and the Throckmorton PTA. She enjoyed entertaining guests in her home and playing bridge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam, in 1993; her daughter, Marilyn Loving in 1994; her brother, William Hall of Dallas; and her sister Mildred Park of Athens.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Menard and husband Tracy of Grapevine, Texas' grandson, Richard Menard and wife Brandi and their children, Reagan, Chloe, MaCrae, and Jack of Throckmorton, Texas; grandson Russell Menard of Grapevine, Texas; and granddaughter, Margaret Kazmer and husband Chuck and their children, Patrick, Nicholas, and Lauren.
Additional survivors include her son-in-law, Harry Loving and wife Donna of San Diego, California; granddaughter, Sarah Loving of San Francisco, California; grandson, Will Loving and wife Maho of San Francisco, California; and sister-in-law, Florene Sommerville of Throckmorton. Survivors who also cherished "Aunt Glynn" include Bob and Margaret Davis of Abilene, Texas; Billy Don and Doris Davis of Throckmorton; Jill Davis of Seymour, Texas; Bill and Glenda Park of Athens, Texas; Beth Stroup of Fort Worth, Texas; and Pat Lockard of Dallas, Texas.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Christian Care Hospice and nursing center for their compassionate care shown toward Glynn.
