Grace Clifford Atchison

Grace Clifford Atchison, 94, and lifelong resident of Haskell, Texas passed away early Thursday morning, January 3, 2013 at Haskell Memorial Hospital in Haskell. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2012 at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Grand officiating. Interment will take place at Willow Cemetery in Haskell under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.
Grace Clifford Rose was born July 22, 1918 in Rose Community to Clifford Carol and Georgia Mae (Henshaw) Rose. She married Denton Truett Atchison on June 30, 1937 in Haskell. Mrs. Atchison was a member of the Ladies Fire Auxiliary and the Square dance Club. She and her husband enjoyed and loved to square dance and country dance. Grace worked as a sales clerk at the jewelry store and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Georgia Rose; her husband, Denton Atchison; and 3 sisters, Opal Hood, Babe Teague, and Frances Lytle.
She will be missed by her daughter, Shirley Reed and husband Jackie of Haskell; sister, Joy Wolfenberger of Dallas; 2 grandchildren, Mitzi Reed and Alan Reed and wife Tricia; and 1 great-grandson, Reed Lee.
Serving as pallbearers for Mrs. Atchison are Robert Weaver, Ronnie Chapman, Keith Chapman, Jerry Don Klose, Bobby Jenkins, and grandson, Alan Reed.
