Grady "Frank" Bruton, lifelong resident of Elbert, Texas, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014, at Olney Healthcare Center in Olney, Texas. Mr. Bruton was 91. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at Elbert Baptist Church in Elbert with Rev. Marty Light officiating. Burial will take place immediately following at Elbert Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Visitation is planned for Monday evening, December 29, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Throckmorton located at 107 N. Austin.
One of 13 children, Frank Bruton was born July 3, 1923, in Elbert, Texas to Philo (Smith) and George Calob Bruton. Frank served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Virginia Wooldridge in New Castle, Texas on August 4, 1951. Frank enjoyed roping calves and working puzzles. He was a retired farmer and welder.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Philo and George Bruton; 6 brothers; and 6 sisters.
Frank is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ginger Bruton of Elbert; son, Jimmy Frank Bruton and wife Kim of Elbert; grandson, Matthew Bruton of Las Cruces, New Mexico; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
