Greg Scarlett

November 13, 1960 — February 12, 2014

Greg Scarlett, formally of Throckmorton and most recently of Kerrville, Texas passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at his home in Kerrville.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the Throckmorton High School Auditorium with Rev. Derrell Marion and Rev. Peter Parker officiating.  Burial immediately following at Throckmorton Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes of Throckmorton.  The Scarlett family has invited friends to the First Baptist Church in Throckmorton following the services to visit with friends and family in remembrance of Greg.

John Gregory Scarlett was born November 13, 1960 in Throckmorton to John Henry and Joann Glenn Scarlett.  He married Angela Schulz on November 22, 1980 in Throckmorton.  He and Angela were house parents for Big Springs Ranch for Children in Leakey, Texas.  Former owner of Scarlett Propane and general manager of McBryde Oil & Gas in Kerrville, Greg loved golfing, fishing, hunting and being outdoors riding his motorcycle.  He loved his family and was a people person and those that knew Greg know he had a very big heart and would do anything for anyone.  Greg loved the Lord and he loved to tell people about the Lord.  He was a member of Impact Fellowship Church.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Angela Scarlett of Kerrville; his mother, Joann Scarlett of Arlington, Texas; two daughters, Loren Scarlett and Libby Scarlett, both of Kerrville; son Logan Scarlett and wife Brooke of Lubbock, Texas; three sisters, Stacy Clark of Breckenridge, Texas, Debbie Chase of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Darlene Breed of Azle, Texas; and one brother, David Scarlett of Arlington, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers for Greg are Dale Riley, Terry Don Barrington, Neal Cook, Louis Timmons, John Keeter, Rob Rankin, Danny Davis, and Kyle Oliver.

If desired, memorials can be made in Greg's name to Big Spring Ranch for Children, 10664 U.S. 83, Leakey, TX 78873 or Hill Country Youth Ranch, 3522 Junction Hwy, Ingram, TX 78025.
