Guadalupe M. Rios Sr

Guadalupe M. Rios Sr, 73 passed away on January 28, 2022, due to an unexpected condition that left us heartbroken and not ready to say goodbye by any means. A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00PM, Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rhineland, TX, with Father Francis Chinthamalla officiating. A rosary is planned at 7:00PM, February 1, 2022, at Smith Family Funeral Homes in Knox City, TX. Burial will follow services at the Knox City Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.

Lupe was born on December 12,1948 and grew up in Knox City where he met the love of his life Carolina Rocha. They spent 57 years of their lives working together, loving each other raising two children, son Lupe Rios Jr, and daughter Christy Munoz. He worked hard to be the best father he could be and a wonderful Popop to five grandchildren, Dawn Sanchez, Bryce Munoz, Nyome Munoz, Whitney Large Thomas, and Tiffany Rios; seven great grandchildren he enjoyed spending lots of time spoiling, Jaknay Sanchez, Felipe Sanchez III, Yeacie Munoz - Reyes, Lauren Thomas, Caroline Thomas, Hunter Thomas, and Kailey.

Seven men Lupe would do anything for and cared for will respectfully lay him down to rest. Pallbearers are, Tyler De Los Rios, Amador Gonzalez, Nefro Gonzalez, Don Hawkins, Alex Martinez, Bryce Munoz, and Alfred Rios. He is already missed and will always be loved by his family he leaves behind.

He is survived by his wife, Carolina Rios; son Lupe Rios Jr; daughter, Christy Munoz.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Melquiadez Rios.
