Hazel Stockton, 97, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Benjamin, Texas Cemetery with Mr. Dennis Duke and Mr. Charles Jones officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Knox City. A visitation is planned for Monday evening, November 9, from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m., located at 210 Ave., Knox City, Texas.
Hazel was born January 13, 1918 in Durant, Oklahoma to William Perry "Buck" Loper and Lela Carl (Damron) Loper. She lived in Benjamin, Texas most of her life. Hazel enjoyed playing skip bo, and cooking. She loved being with her family. She was a member of the First Christian Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William Perry "Buck" Loper and Lela Carl (Damron); husband, Claude Stockton; daughter, Von Conner; three brothers, and two sisters.
Hazel is survived by her brother Gene Loper and wife Jeannie of Tucson, Arizona; son-in-law, Dwayne Edward "Bud" Conner of Benjamin, Texas;two grandchildren, Steve Conner and wife Brenda of Big Springs, Texas, Keith Conner and wife Pam of Midland, Texas, and Kim Moore of Benjamin, Texas; great-grandchildren, Stephanie Brannan and husband Bobby of Lubbock, Texas, Michele Barrientez and husband Jimmy of Benjamin, Texas, Blaine Neill of Abilene, Texas, Casey Conner and wife Lacy of Midland, Texas, Clayton Conner and wife Melina of Lubbock, Texas, and Samantha and Shelbly Russell of Benjamin, Texas; 16 great-great-children; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials can be given in Hazel's name to National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
