Helen Kay Adkisson

Helen Kay Adkisson, 69, of Rochester, Texas passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM, Friday, December 2, at Faith Chapel Church in Rochester, TX with Rev. Randy Hollingsworth officiating, under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.

Helen was born October 9,1953, in Pecos, TX to Billie (Thompson) and Robert Norton. She graduated from Balmorhea High School and earned a Bachelor's degree in Education from Abilene Christian University. She was a dedicated and passionate school teacher for 28 years. She also taught English online to people all over the world. She married the light of her life, David Adkisson, on September 18, 1993, in Knox City. She was a member of Faith Chapel Church in Rochester. In her spare time she loved to craft, making jewelry and other items. She doted on her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her husband, David Adkisson; two brothers, Ross Norton and wife Joy, and Rob Norton and wife Catina; five nieces, Stephanie Corbitt and husband Jon (and their children Alexander and William), Courtney Norton, Christie Saenz and husband Ray, Stacey Healey and husband Chris, and Nicci Boyd Conn; three nephews, Jeremy Norton, Chris Norton and wife Pearl (and their children Gabriel, Alissa, Ruby and Wille), Robert Norton and wife Jessica (and their children Austin, Serenity, and Robby Jr.); and numerous other family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Billie and Robert Norton.
