Helen (Moeller) Ray

Helen (Moeller) Ray, 96, a longtime resident of Throckmorton, TX, passed away Friday, August 13, 2021. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM, Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at the Christian Center, Throckmorton with Bro. Charles Fischer officiating. Burial will follow services at Throckmorton Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation is planned from 9:30-11:30AM, Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at the funeral home, 107 N Austin, Throckmorton.

Helen was born January 26, 1925 in Irby, TX to Annie (Zelisko) and J.P. Moeller. She married Jack Ray on February 9, 1950 in Haskell. She graduated from Mattson High School in 1942. Helen loved cheering for her kids, grandkids and crocheting.

She is survived by her two sons, Ronnie Ray and wife Jane of Morgan Mill, Charles Ray and wife Lynna of Olton; two daughters, Vonnie Jones and husband Mick of Throckmorton, Brenda Burns and husband Laprell of Midway; daughter-in-law, Connie Ray of Throckmorton; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Annie and J.P. Moeller; husband, Jack Ray; son, Gary Ray; grandson, Trent Burns; granddaughter, Kari Burns; 3 sisters; and 2 brothers.

Memorials may be made in Helen's name to: Throckmorton Senior Citizens Center.
