Ida Mae (Evans) Atkinson

Ida Mae (Evans) Atkinson, 93, a lifelong resident of Throckmorton, TX passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018. A funeral service will be held at 2:00p.m., Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, 107 N. Austin, Throckmorton, TX with Rev. Peter Parker officiating. Burial will follow services at Throckmorton Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Throckmorton.

Ida was born June 28, 1925 in Fannin Co., to Amanda (Eads) and Robert Evans. She married Jack Atkinson on December 28, 1840 in Throckmorton. Ida worked at Throckmorton Memorial Hospital and at the Throckmorton Healthcare Center as an LVN.

She is survived by her two daughters, Donna Atkinson Davis and husband Burt of Throckmorton, and Sandra Gay Everett and husband Danny of Throckmorton; son, Jackie Lee Atkinson and wife Della of Tennessee; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Amanda Eads Evans; father, Robert Evans; husband, Jack Atkinson; daughter, Joy Strange; and three brothers, Bobby Evans, Ray Evans, and Hollis Evans.
