Ima Jean (Turnbow) Aycock, 97, of Haskell went to be with her Lord and Savior February 4, 2023. Visitation will be held at 10:00AM, Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Haskell, followed by a funeral service at 11:00AM, with Rev. Rick Moeller officiating. Burial will follow at the Willow Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes in Haskell.
Ima Jean was born March 9, 1925 in the farming community of Mattson east of Haskell to Alfred and Mabel Brown Turnbow. She married J.W. Aycock January 25, 1943. She was a farmer's wife and she loved to cook.
She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church, Haskell, TX. and member of the Dorcus Sunday School Class. She was always there to serve the children at VBS and help prepare meals for the families that lost loved ones. Later in life she visited the nursing home everyday. She was one of the oldest living cousins of the Josselet Family. Ima Jean was a sweet lady with a great sense of humor. She loved playing dominos, and canasta with her friends every week.
Ima Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, J.W., and her sisters, Joyce Pueschel, and Opal Faye Therwanger.
She is survived by her children, Jim Aycock of Denton, TX., Bob (Pam) Aycock, of Abilene, TX., and Debbie (Greg) Brister, of Paradise, TX; grandchildren, Jason (Susan) Aycock, Amy (Brad) Brazell, Angela (Cale) Parson, B.J. (Brittany) Opsahl, and Candace (Richard) Reese; great granchildren, Gabriel Opsahl, Mason Opsahl, Grant Brazell, Griffin Brazell, Ryder Parson, Avery Parson, and Bradley Reese.
