Inez Stribling

Inez Stribling, lifelong resident of Throckmorton, Texas, passed away Sunday evening, November 18, 2012 at the Throckmorton Healthcare Center in Throckmorton. Mrs. Stribling was 105. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel in Throckmorton with Bro. Peter Parker officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Throckmorton Cemetery.
Ruby Inez Rogers was born October 8, 1907 in Throckmorton to James. W. and Dora (Citty) Rogers. She married Sloan H. Stribling on June 30, 1928. Mr. Stribling preceded her in death in September of 1978. Sloan and Inez were the owners and operators of Throckmorton Elevator for many years. Prior to that, Mrs. Stribling was a teacher. She later worked in the ASCS office for more than 17 years. Inez was a "lifelong learner".
Inez was the first director of the Throckmorton Senior Citizens and a charter member of the 39 Study Club. She enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of the Saturday Bridge Club.
Also preceding her in death are her parents, James and Dora Rogers; and 1 daughter, Nancy Frank Stribling.
She is survived by her 3 granddaughters, Jalie Joanne Langford of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Jana Martin and Judy Shuptrine, both of Lancaster, Texas; 1 grandson, Jimmy Sloan Martin of Burleson, Texas; 1 great-grandson, Claude Bennett Crum, of Holly, Colorado; and numerous extended family members.
