Jack Lyles Sellers, 90, a longtime resident of Rule, TX, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018. A graveside service will be held at 10:00a.m., Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at the Rule Cemetery, with Rev. John Fanning officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Rule. A visitation is planned from 6:00-7:00p.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at the funeral home, 600 Robins Ave., Rule, TX.
Jack was born February 21, 1928 in Haskell, Co., to Lura (Brown) and Lester Albert Sellers. He married Leta Curd on February 12, 1954 in Tye, TX. He was a member of the American Legion, and worked as a Senior Operator for Slumberge for 27 years. Working was his passion.
He is survived by his son, David Sellers and wife Bekah of Abilene; two grandsons, Christopher Sellers and wife Kristen of Lubbock, and Jackson Sellers of Abilene; granddaughter, Maggie Sellers of Abilene; two great-granddaughters, Baylee Sellers, and Macey Sellers both of Lubbock; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Leta Sellers; mother, Lura Sellers; father, Lester Sellers; brother, Ted Sellers; and two sisters, Fannie Mae Monsey, and Hazel Moody.
