James (Jimmy) Allen Magin

September 7, 1957 — June 5, 2024

James Allen, "Jimmy," Magin was born on September 7, 1957, in Olney, Texas to parents, Glenn L. Magin and Billie Joyce (Darden) Magin. He lived his entire life in and around Throckmorton, Texas. Jimmy was called home by the Lord on June 5, 2024, at his earthly home in Throckmorton. Jimmy trusted Jesus Christ as his savior at a young age and was a Baptist. He was the youngest of 4 children.

Jimmy lost his mother at a young age and had to grow up quickly. While Jimmy was growing up, he enjoyed sports, especially football, that he played in Throckmorton where he graduated from high school. He attended Cisco Junior College and Tarleton State. Jimmy was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan; however, his true passion was the great outdoors. He spent many hours fishing, hunting and rodeoing. His second home was Possum Kingdom Lake where he spent most of his leisure time.

Jimmy was affectionately known to many as "Bimbo." He never met a stranger and was liked by all who knew him. Jimmy loved his family as well as his many friends and was a very giving and kindhearted person. He enjoyed being with people and telling stories. He was a great cook and did countless "cookin's" and events to provide for others.

Preceding Jimmy in death were his parents, closest friend and brother Johnny Magin, great niece Memphis Magin and great nephew Kreek Magin.

Jimmy is survived by sisters, Judy Carter, Glennda (Shan) Ingram and sister-in-law, Suzanne Magin; nephews Hank Carter, Dan Carter, Glenn (Kristin) Ingram, Clay (Renee) Ingram, Mich (Kelly) Magin, Matt (Brittany) Magin; several cousins, great nephews and nieces as well as many many friends that he loved and cherished. Jimmy will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by all his family, friends and acquaintances.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in Jimmy's name to the Kreek Magin Memorial Endowed Scholarship; Tarleton State University, Box T-0260, Stephenville, TX 76402 or to a charity of the donor's choice.

A memorial celebration and rememberance service for Jimmy Magin will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at the Cowboy Gathering Church located at 4343 FM 1287, Graham, TX 76450. Visitation will follow the service.
