James Ewell Kittley, Jr. was born on Monday, December 13, 1928 to Mildred Kittley (Guinn) and James Ewell Kittley, Sr. in Rule. He grew up and attended school in Rule and other than a short while serving our country, Jack always worked on the family farm. He married Margaret Frances Pilley on March 14, 1970 in Rule. The two remained in Rule where Jack continued to farm the family land.
Jack was a quiet, kind man and never had much to say unless the subjects of the weather, farming, or oil wells were brought up. He was happy to join in the conversation at that point, but if the subject changed, Jack was done conversing.
He earned the Family Land Heritage Award for being an owner and operating the same farmland as his predecessors' for more than 110 years. Jack was very proud of this award, proud of the family farm, and continued to honor both to his last days.
Jack enjoyed genealogy and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rule.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and James Kittley, Sr.
Jack will be missed by his wife of 43 years, Margaret Kittley of Rule; a step-son, Donald Wylie of McKinney, Texas; step-daughter, Tina Wylie of Azle, Texas; a brother, Pete Kittley of Rule; 2 nephews, Billy Dave Kittley, Jr. and wife Pat of Rule, and James Ray Kittley also of Rule; great-nieces and nephews, Sarah Hidenhamer and husband J.G. of Oahu, Hawaii and their sons, Zack and Ryan, Steven Kittley of Abilene, Tre Ann Krupnick and husband Matt of Fairfax, Virginia and their son, Cooper, and Billy Dave Kittley, III of Rule.
