James "Tommy" Goode

James Tommy Goode, 78, a longtime resident of Throckmorton, Texas passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025. A funeral service will be held at 4:00pm Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Throckmorton with Rev. Charles Fischer officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Throckmorton Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Throckmorton. A visitation is planned from 6:00 to 7:00pm Friday, January 24, 2025, at the funeral home, 107 N. Austin, Throckmorton, Texas.

Tommy was born June 14, 1946 in Knox City, Texas to Bobbie (Tanner) and James Goode. He married Anita (Poteet) in Knox City, Texas on April 10, 1965, they would have been married 60 years. He was a longtime member of Masonic Lodge 489, where he had several positions and Throckmorton Eastern Star 500. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and camping.

He is survived by his wife, Anita Goode of Throckmorton; 2 sons, Jimmy Goode and wife Rhonda of Meeker, Oklahoma, Corey Goode and wife Dawn of Rhome, Texas; daughter, Sherri Jackson of Throckmorton, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Winnie Pittman of Rochester, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Bobbie Goode; sister, Claudette Wolsch; brother, Elmer Goode; and son-in-law, Dee Jackson.
