James A. "Jim" Larned, 71, of Knox City, TX, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021. A graveside service will be held at 10:00AM, Monday, August 16, 2021 at the Knox City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation is planned from 6:00-7:00PM, Sunday, August 15, 2021, at the funeral home, 210 Ave A, Knox City, TX.
James was born January 16, 1950 in Childress, TX to Brada (Patterson) Alexander and Julian Larned. James lived in Knox City for over 20 years before moving away, and later returning after retiring a year ago. He enjoyed wood working and tinkering. He especially loved spending time with his family and watching his grandkids activities.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Larned of Knox City; three daughters, Tanya Foster and husband Charles of Iowa Park, Micah Leake and husband Brett of Canyon, Juli Ladesma and husband Alex of Knox City; one son, Tanner Whittaker and wife Crystal of Graham; 16 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 3 on the way; three sisters, Sandy Freeman, Mary Neeley, and Angie Larned.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Brada Alexander; and father, Julian Larned.
