James Lee Pratt

James Lee Pratt, 78, a long time resident of Benjamin, TX, passed away Friday, August 21, 2020. A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Benjamin Cemetery, Benjamin with Rev. Devyn Pratt officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Knox City. A visitation is planned from 6:00-7:00PM, Friday, August 28, 2020, at the funeral home, 210 Ave A., Knox City, TX.

James was born November 24, 1941 in Roswell, NM, to Lois (Yarbrough) Moreland and Lester Pratt. He married Barbara (Bailes) in 1964, in Andrews, TX. He had a passion for running, and horse racing. James was a long time manager of the Hamilton Ranch. He became the Pastor at the Benjamin Church of Christ, and later at the Rochester Church of Christ. He especially loved his Red Raiders.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Pratt of Lubbock; son, Troy Pratt and wife Nicie of Lubbock; two granddaughters, Danielle Steinfath and husband Eric of Muleshoe, Tia Pratt of Lubbock; three grandsons, Devyn Pratt of Vancouver, WA; Tanner Pratt of Lubbock; Gunner Pratt of Lubbock; three brothers, David Pratt of Santa Fe, TX, Gates Michael "Skipper" Pratt of Lake Jackson, TX, Leslie Pratt of Austin, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is proceeded in death by his father, Lester Pratt; mother, Lois Moreland; daughter, Aimee Pratt; brother Leonard Pratt; and sister, Mary Jane (Pratt) Boomhower.
