Jeffie L. (Turnbow) Stapp, longtime resident of Haskell, Texas passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the age of 84. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Rule Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Visitation will be Friday, July 24,from 6:00-7:00 p.m. located at the funeral home in Haskell.
Jeffie was born on June 1, 1931 to Jeffery D. "J.D." Turnbow and Mattie Ann (Brown) Turnbow in Haskell County, Texas. She married Melton George Stapp August 1, 1946 in Anson, Texas. Melton Stapp died May 25, 1985. She worked at Haskell Memorial Hospital as a CNA. She traveled all over before retiring in Rule. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and loved working as a caregiver. She was also an excellent cook and a member of Haskell Foursquare Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jeffery "J.D." and Mattie Turnbow; her husband, Melton George Stapp; four brothers, Buck Turnbow, C.A. "Bud" Turnbow,George Turnbow, and Bob Turnbow; five sisters, Loney Linton, Oma Mae Herricks, Ocie Garrett, Feba Jo Stout, and Sue Frier.
Jeffie is survived by her daughter, Jana Pringle and her husband Terry of Breckenridge, Texas;
son, Roy Stapp of Tuscola, Texas; sister, Jessie Couch of Haskell, Texas; two grandchildren, Tara Pringle of Breckenridge,Texas and Chelsea McReynolds and her husband Tommie of Weatherford,Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
