Jerry Ann Harris, 86, of Haskell, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024. Visitation will be held at Smith Family Funeral Home in Haskell, from 1:00-2:00pm on Saturday, March 23.

Jerry Ann was born February 2, 1938, in Victoria, Texas, to JD and Marie Sherley.  She married the love of her life, Jerry Dale Harris, on January 1, 1959. They made their home in Rochester, Texas until 1977, when they moved to Haskell. They raised their three children there.

She worked at Hale Farm Supply until she retired and then figured out that she missed seeing and being around people. She worked at Heads or Tails Western Wear and substituted at Haskell schools before working at The Personality Shop in Haskell. She loved people, telling stories about her rodeo days, and visiting with others. She was full of joy and could make people laugh with her witty sayings and great sense of humor. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family, and spoiling her grandkids.

Jerry Ann was preceded in death by her parents JD and Marie Sherley, her brothers Mike and Mickey Sherley, her sisters Cinda Partain and Beverly Epley, and her son Jim Harris.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Jerry Dale Harris,  her sister Jimmie Sue Blackwell (Freddie) of Potosi, Texas, son Todd Harris (Rebbecca) of Paris, Texas, daughter Dala Sanders (Mark) of Stamford, Texas, grandchildren JD Harris of Paris, Texas,  Ryder Harris (Dannes) of Hamlin, Texas,  Cody Harris of Abilene, Texas,  Chianne Cartwright (Cason) of Lubbock,  Texas , Kenisha Lucas (Ricky) of Albany, Texas, Morgan Sanders of Waco, Texas, Dakota Sanders of Stamford, Texas, great grandson Jaxon Harris of Paris, Texas, along with many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
