Jerry Josselet, 90, of Haskell, TX, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 2, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church, Haskell with Pastor David Johnson and Mr. John Sam Rike officiating. Burial will follow services at Willow Cemetery, Haskell under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation is planned from 6:00-7:00 p.m., Sunday, October 1, 2017 at the funeral home, 304 N. 2nd St., Haskell, TX.
Jerry was born June 20, 1927 in Rule, to Hattie Lorene (Rowe) and Walter Rinehart. She married Homer Josselet on December 31, 1947 in Haskell behind Hammer's Laundry. She lived at Josselet Switch on the farm from 1947 until 2007 when she moved to Haskell. Jerry was a nursery school volunteer, and enjoyed sewing, crocheting and embroidering.
She is survived by her three daughters, Catherine (Josselet) Bartley and husband Robert of Haskell, Sandra (Josselet) Sanford and husband Bobby of Weinert, and Judy Josselet and husband Everett of Washington; son, Van Josselet of Dalhart; brother, Walter Elmer Rinehart and wife Joyce of Lubbock; sister-in-law, Pearl Rinehart of Rule; five granddaughters, Christi Wheat, Misti Bartley, Shannon Livingston, Kari Podboy and husband Jim, and Gloria Stokley; three grandsons, Shawn Sanford, Joseph Longfellow, and Chris Josselet; and 16 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Hattie (Rowe) Rinehart; father, Walter Rinehart; husband, Homer Josselet; sister, Wanda Moore; brother-in-law, Coy Lee Moore; brother, Clifton Rinehart; two grandsons, Nathan and Jospeh Todd Longfellow; and two granddaughters, Tammy Longfellow, and Tari Knutsen.
Memorials can be given in Jerry's name to First United Methodist Church Haskell, Haskell Healthcare Center, and Hendrick Hospice Center.
