Jesse Rodney Miller

Jesse Rodney Miller, age 81, went to be with the Lord on January 12, 2025.  He roared through life on his Harley Davidson and had an intense passion for life and good times.

He is survived by his eldest daughter, Sonya Miller Rodriguez, her husband Alex Rodriguez of Fort Collins, Colorado, and her daughter, Camryn Manson of Houston, Texas.

He is survived by his younger daughter, Lynette Miller Kitchen, her husband Malcolm Kitchen and their three children: Rileigh, Madeline, and Skeet of New Braunfels, Texas

He is survived by his younger sister, Ember Miller, of Abilene, Texas.

Rodney is preceded in death of his parents Jesse Ray Miller and Helen Irene Davis Miller, both of Haskell. Texas.

Rodney lived a full and vibrant life.  He was a Texas Department of Public Safety patrol officer and later joined the narcotics team and worked undercover. He was a proud member of the Masons for over 55 years. Rodney was forever the entrepreneur and had many business ventures over the years ranging from ownership in a music venue in Dallas, head of security for various rock n roll groups, concert promoter, established and ran the first limousine company in Austin, to a hot-shot transportations company in west Texas.

Rodney never met a stranger; he always had that mischievous smile on his face and a welcome hug.  He would give you the shirt off his back and tell you a story of one of his adventures in his younger days. He is a shining star that will be greatly missed by all of us.

A memorial service will be held at Smith Funeral Home in Haskell, Texas, on January 20, 2025, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to donate to the Shriners Children's Texas pediatric hospital or an organization of your choosing. A celebration of life will be held in Austin, Texas at a date yet to be determined.
