Jessie M. Tudor, longtime Throckmorton resident passed away Tuesday morning, June 26, 2012 in Throckmorton. Mrs. Tudor was 102 years old. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 29, 2012 at Throckmorton Cemetery with Rev. Robert Hodgkiss officiating. Arrangements were made under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes of Throckmorton.
Jessie M. Hays was born November 22, 1909 in Little Elm, Texas to John and Caddie Lou (Smith) Hays. Jessie earned her B.S. and Masters Degree in Education and was a teacher for many years in Rule and Throckmorton. She married Edgar Tudor in Throckmorton on May 19, 1933. Mrs. Tudor was a member of the First Baptist Church in Throckmorton.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Tudor; her parents, John and Caddie Hays; 1 brother, Ray Hays; 3 sisters, Jean Griffin, Ruby Brock, and Mary Hilburn.
Mrs. Tudor is survived by her daughter, Brenda Lou Lynch and husband Rex of Allen, Texas; a granddaughter, Rhonda Riley and husband Erin of Apex, North Carolina; 2 great-grandsons, Brandon and Connor Riley of Apex, North Carolina; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorials can be given in Jessie's name to the First Baptist Church, 211 N. Minter, Throckmorton, TX 76483.
