Jessie A. Guzman, Sr., 89, a long time resident of Haskell, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016, at his home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at St. George Catholic Church in Haskell. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Willow Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A rosary will be at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at the funeral home, 304 N 2nd St., Haskell, TX, 79521.
Jessie was born June 15, 1927 in Refugio, TX to Rose Pesina and Agustin Ozuna. He was a farmer and a member of St. George Catholic Church. He loved fishing, farming and listening to Ranchera Music.
He is survived by three daughters, Janie Guzman of Haskell, Rose Solano and husband Robert of Haskell, and Beatrice Salazar and husband Jaime of Coppell; two sons, Raymond Guzman and wife Marie of Abilene, and Mike Guzman of Haskell; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Julia Lopez; and his brother, Jessie Guzman, Jr.
