Jewel "Tiny" Pittman

Jewel "Tiny" Pittman, longtime resident of Haskell, Texas, passed away Saturday evening, January 24, 2015 at Haskell Healthcare Center in Haskell. Jewel was 88. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at the First Christian Church in Haskell with Rev. Dusty Garrison officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the services at Willow Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Visitation is planned for Tuesday evening, January 27, 2015, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Haskell located at 304 North Second Street.

Jewel was born July 10, 1926, to J.C. and Clara (Brite) Holt, in Weinert, Texas. She grew up in Rule, Texas and moved to Haskell in 1944. She married Roy M. Pittman on July 9, 1944 in Haskell, Texas. Her and her husband owned Haskell Butane Company and she worked in the office. Jewel was a member of the First Christian Church in Haskell. She loved to play "Bridge" or any kind of games and also loved to crochet. Her children and grandchildren were her world and she loved them very much.

She is preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Clara Holt; husband, Roy M. Pittman, and three brothers; Bud Holt, J.C. Holt, Jr., and Jerry Holt.

Jewel is survived by her daughter, Betty Pittman Chandler of Woodville, Texas; two sons, Roy David Pittman and wife Diane of Lubbock, Texas and Rex Allen Pittman and wife Camin or Haskell, Texas; five sisters, Gene Culpepper of Haskell, Texas, Amelia Perry of Paint Creek, Texas, Tommy Alvis of Saginaw, Texas, Janette Ramos of Mendacena, California, and Jane Rowland of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren, 15 and a half great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Serving as pallbearers are her grandsons, Joe Ammons, Cody Chandler, Eric Pittman, Ross Pittman, Cole Pittman, and Callen Pittman.

Memorials can be given in Jewel's name to First Christian Church, 107 N Avenue F, Haskell, TX 79521, (940) 864-3550.
