James Adam "Jimmy" Bynum, lifelong resident of Haskell, Texas, passed away Monday, December 1, 2014 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. Jimmy was 67. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 4, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church in Haskell with Rev. Weston Pendergrass officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the services at Willow Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Visitation is planned for 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday evening, December 3, at the funeral home in Haskell located at 304 North Second Street.
Jimmy was born in Haskell, Texas to Mildred "Odell" (Williamson) and J.A. Bynum, on June 8, 1947. He married Donna Bynum on June 1, 1996 in Haskell, Texas. Jimmy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Haskell. He loved carpentry and turning something out of nothing, especially for his grandson, Nathan. Jimmy also loved the game of golf.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mildred "Odell" and J.A. Bynum and his wife, Donna Bynum.
Jimmy is survived by his two daughters, Ashley and Michelle Bynum of Austin, Texas; one sister, Jane Gibson and husband Bobby of Abilene, Texas; grandson, Nathan Delauney of Austin, Texas; two nieces, Laura Norris of Waco, Texas and Sharyn Lily of Abilene, Texas.
Serving as pallbearers are Johnny Josselet, Phillip Josselet, Chad Watson, William Delauney, Bill Perry, and Arthur McDonald.
