Jimmy Louis McNulty, resident of Knox City, Texas, passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 at Knox County Hospital in Knox City. Jimmy was 75. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., at the Foursquare Church in Knox City with Rev. Gary Schnable officiating. Interment will take place immediately following the services at Benjamin Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Visitation is planned for Monday, January 26 at 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home located at 210 Avenue A in Knox City.
Jimmy was born February 6, 1939, to Henry Louis McNulty and Minnie V. (Wadkins), in Knox City, Texas. He later married Shirley Pierce on September 10, 1960. They would have celebrated 55 years of marriage this year.
Mr. McNulty graduated from Knox City High School in 1958 and served three years in the U.S. Army. He made his career in market, managing in a variety of supermarkets across New Mexico and Texas. He retired in 2003 from the TDCJ-ID Allred Correction Unit.
He is preceded in death by his parents, H. L. and Minnie McNulty; his in-laws, P. H. and Goldie Pierce; daughter-in-law, Julie McNulty; and brother-in-law Frank Pierce.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Shirley (Pierce) McNulty; three sons, Tracy of Huntsville, Texas, Charles and wife Monica of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Andy of Knox City, Texas; two grandsons, Bobby and Drew McNulty both of Knox City, Texas; and one sister Doris McNulty of Knox City, Texas.
