Jo Ruth Lowrey Lisle

Jo Ruth Lisle, resident of Rule, Texas passed away Wednesday evening, September 25, 2013 in Haskell, Texas. Mrs. Lisle was 85. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Church of Christ in Rule with John Greeson officiating. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Rule Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home. Visitation is planned for Friday evening, September 27 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Rule.

Jo Ruth was born February 7, 1928 in the New Cook Community, Haskell County to Joe and Mertie Lowrey. A graduate of Rule High School, she married James A. Lisle, Jr. in Haskell on March 1, 1946. James and Jo Ruth were married 50 years until James' death on July 5, 1996. Jo Ruth enjoyed crocheting, china painting, bridge and spending time with her family and friends. She was a faithful member of the Rule Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mertie Lowrey; her husband, James A. Lisle, Jr.; and 2 brothers, Leroy and Allen Lowrey and their wives, Naomi and Mavis.

Jo Ruth is survived by a daughter, Jennye Daniel and husband Tim of Rockport; 3 sons, Jimmy Lisle and wife Rhonda of Haskell, Mike Lisle and wife Thelia of Stamford, and David Lisle and friend Lisa Rodriguez of Rochester; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

If desired, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Rule Church of Christ.
