John "Tim" Coffman

John "Tim" Coffman, 69, passed away Monday, May 22, 2023. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, May 27, 2023, at the Methodist Church in Vera, TX, with Brother Robert Johnson officiating, under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Haskell. A visitation is planned from 1:00 to 2:00PM, at the Methodist Church, State Hwy114 & Country Rd 4171, Vera, TX. 76380.

John "Tim" Coffman was born May 15, 1954, in Levelland, TX, to Marie (Kinnebrugh) and Anthony Kevil Coffman. In his younger years he enjoyed playing golf, and in high school he played tennis. Tim graduated from Stamford High School class of 1972. He served in the U.S. Navy and worked as a Radio Operator for 4 years. He married Karla (Hertel) on November 12, 2016 in Aspermont, TX. He enjoyed shopping on Amazon, watching NASCAR and the Texas Rangers play baseball. He enjoyed road trips and spending time with his family. He loved hunting and fishing; he even hunted some pigs from the bathroom window.

Tim is survived by his wife, Karla Coffman; sons, John Matthew Coffman and his wife Elena of Lander, WY, Brian Coffman and wife Leah of Lemoore, CA; daughter, Hannah Coffman of Brownwood, TX; sons, Craig Smith and wife Annette of Aspermont, TX; Will Smith and girlfriend Melanie Selman of Rule, TX; daughter, Misty Gibbs and husband Derrell of Rule, TX; 15 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; nephew, Kevin Coffman of Goree, TX; mother of his children, Rebecca Kelly of Brownwood, TX; fur-baby, Shadow; many nieces, nephews, and other. family members.

He is preceded by his parents, Marie and Anthony Coffman; and brother, Leonard Coffman.
