John Samuel White

John Samuel White, 33, of Munday, passed away July 22, 2024 in Benjamin, Texas. John was born February 21, 1991, to Ron and Susan White of Benjamin, Texas. The funeral is set for 10:00 AM, Monday, July 29, 2024 at the First Methodist Church in Munday, Texas, with the burial service at Benjamin Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A meal will be provided following the services.

He is survived by his wife Sarah; children Noah, Oliver, Theodore, and Lucy; many brothers and sisters, Steven (Kim) White, Jim (Kandy) White, Chris (Joann) White, Connie Provost, Ronald White, Melissa (Peter) White, Joshua (Amy) White, Jessica (Phil) White, Timothy (Jessie) White, Jennifer Hou, and Jessica Hou; and 26 nephews and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Thelma Maston Byrd of Munday, Glenn Maston of Munday, BJ Byrd of Electra, Anita & Rufus White of Knox City, his sister Hannah Ruth Rowland of Throckmorton, his uncle Larry White of Knox City, and his brother-in-law Lance Provost of Bowie.

John was a beautiful soul. He wasn't afraid to make you uncomfortable if it would help you see truth, learn something about yourself, or about life. Life isn't always easy and it doesn't always make sense in the moment, but it is also full of good. Although his life had hardships, it was also full of joy. He will be missed by so many. He touched so many lives. John was someone who loved people and, even at his worst, he never stopped trying to help others. If he had a parting message, I think it would be this: love like Jesus loved regardless of age, race, looks, or smell (yes, he would have said smell or something more humorous); and give compassion to the people who surround you, because you never know the pain they are still holding.
