Jose Lozano Marin, 87, a longtime resident of Knox City, TX, passed away Monday, March 20, 2017, at his home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the Foursquare Church, Knox City with Rev. Amulfo Rodes officiating. Burial will follow services at the Knox City Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation is planned from 6:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at the funeral home, 210 Ave A., Knox City, TX.
Jose was born January 22, 1930 in Durango, Mexico, to Lucita Lozano and Manuel Marin. He married Maria Rodriguez in 1950 in Durango, Mexico. Jose worked at the Charlie Myers Grain Elevator for 13 years. He enjoyed carpentry, was a Deacon of the church, and both he and Maria worked on several Christian Radio Stations.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Rodriguez Marin of Knox City; three sons, Vicente Marin of Rule, Victor Marin of San Marcos, and Sergio Marin of Midland; daughter, Estella Servin of Knox City; 16 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Lucita Lozano; father, Manuel Marin; son, Joe Marin, Jr.; and daughter, Mary Goins.
