Joyce A. Hager, 85, of Weinert passed away Sunday morning, September 23, 2012 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Weinert with Bro. Dan Bullock officiating. Interment will follow at Willow Cemetery in Haskell under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday evening, September 25 at the funeral home in Haskell.
Joyce AnnaBelle Grand was born September 3, 1927 in Paint Creek, Texas to John L and Eunice (Partain) Grand. She married W.R. Hager, Jr. in Stamford, Texas on December 22, 1943. Mrs. Hager was a member with the First United Methodist Church in Haskell, but a family member and attendee of Weinert Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Eunice Grand; her husband of 68 years, W.R. Hager, Jr., 2 sons, Walter Richard Hager, III and Ronald Keith Hager; and brother, John "Bud" Grand.
Joyce is survived by her 3 daughters, Kathy Roberts and husband Rokki, Sue Stewart and husband Dewayne Phillips, and Kim Howard and husband Bobby; 1 son, Stanley Hager and wife Brenda; 8 grandchildren, Heather Wilhelm and husband Coby, Justin Stewart and wife Angela, Mindy Howard, Eric Hager and wife Kristen, Angela Hatfield and husband Heath, Rusty Howard; Jeremy Hager and wife Candice, and Kourtney Howard; 8 great- grandchildren, Kayele Wilhelm, Bailea Wilhelm, Kylei Stewart, Kenzli Hager, Roslyn Stewart, Cooper Wilhelm, Hunter Stewart, and Brenley Hatfield; sister, Barbara Moberley and husband Lee; 2 sisters-in-law, Carol Grand and Golda June Neff; 2 brothers-in-law, Don Hager and wife Tanis, and Chris Hager and wife Joyce; and numerous nieces and nephews.
