Juan Q. Espinosa, 93, a longtime resident of Knox City, TX, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2021. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM, Monday, July 19, 2021 at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Rhineland with Father Francis Chintamala officiating. Burial will follow services at the Knox City Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Knox City. A rosary is planned for 6:00PM, Sunday, July 18, 2021, at the Santa Rosa Catholic Church, 210 N. Ave G, Knox City, TX.
Juan was born March 8, 1928 in Mercedes, TX to Celia (Quintanilla) and Manuel Espinosa. He married Estefana (Rodriguez) on August 18, 1947 in Edinburg, TX. Juan was a longtime farmer. He enjoyed going to the casino for fun, and especially loved being with family.
He is survived by his 4 daughters, Delia Espinoza of Fort Worth, Sally Macias and husband Cato, Jr., of Sagerton, Ester Calvillo and husband Paul, Sr., of Fort Worth, Tina Marie Espinoza of Atlana, GA; 2 sons, Johnny Espinoza and wife Sylvia of Knox City, Alejandro Espinoza of Cleburne; 13 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Rosendo Espinoza and wife Leecha of California, Raul Espinoza of Knox City; Robert Q. Espinoza of Knox City; two sisters, Emma Casillas of Abilene, and Elva Aleman and husband Daniel of Fort Worth.
He is preceded in death by his wife Estefana R. Espinosa; parents, Celia and Manuel Espinosa; brother, Manuel Espinosa, Jr.; 2 sisters, Erminia Sosa, and Eva Losoya.
