Juanita "Nita" Posey, 67, and lifelong resident of Knox City passed away early Tuesday morning in Haskell. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 9, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Knox City with Bro. Clifton McFadden officiating. Nita will be layed to rest along side her parents in Rochester at the Rochester Cemetery. Arrangements were made under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes of Knox City.
Nita was born in Knox City on March 2, 1945 to Ophus Ola and Laura Frankie (Gunnels) Posey.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ophus and Laura Posey; and a sister, Bonnie Cleo.
Nita is survived by her 3 sisters, Patsy Wilson of Haskell, Mildred McFadden of Iowa Park, Linda Vaughn of Tyler; 2 brothers, Roy and wife Francis Posey of Andrews, Gary Posey and wife Nancy of Hawkins; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Serving as pallbearers for Nita are her nephews, Keith Posey, Joey Posey, Lee McFadden, Wayne McFadden, William Wilson, and Tymothy Wilson.
