Juanita (Cofield) Ray, of Haskell, Texas, passed away Monday, March 23, 2015, at Tomball Regional Medical Center in Houston, Texas at the age of 91. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 27, 2015, at First Baptist Church in Haskell, Texas with Rev. Troy Culpepper officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the services at Willow Cemetery in Haskell under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Visitation is planned for Thursday evening, March 26 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 304 North Second Street.
Juanita was born February 8, 1924, in Haskell, Texas, to Hardin Cofield and Elizabeth (Oliver). She grew up in Haskell, Texas then moved to Houston, Texas. She enjoyed playing cards and was a former member of a Haskell Canasta Club and First Baptist Church of Haskell.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hardin and Elizabeth Cofield; 3 husbands, Charles T. Ray, Guy Scott Rall, and Robert Boone; and one sister-in-law, Estelle Clark.
Juanita is survived by one daughter, May Belle Williams of Spring, Texas; one grandson, Bobby Joe Williams of Seagoville, Texas; three nieces, Doris Moore and husband Dwane of Haskell, Texas, Donna Saffel and husband Vance of Haskell, Texas and Sandra Stanton and husband Charles of Weatherford, Texas; one nephew, Barry Fletcher; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
