Kay (Reeves) Fannin

Kay (Reeves) Fannin, 77, passed away Monday, September 9, 2024. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am, Friday, September 13, 2024, at the Knox City Cemetery with Rev. Dusty Garison officiating, under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Knox City, Texas. A visitation is planned from 6:00 to 7:00pm, Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the funeral home, 210 Ave. A, Knox City, Texas.

Kay was born September 26, 1946 in Knox City, Texas to Leatrice  (Qualls) and Charles Reeves, where she grew up.  She married Gary Fannin on April 11, 1981, in Knox City, Texas. She was an avid quilter and was a member of the Chico Quilters Guild. She was an amazing cook, liked to shop and go antiquing. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Knox City and in Chico. She loved the Lord and her family beyond words.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Fannin of Corpus Christi, Texas; a son, Casey Proffitt of Corpus Christi, Texas; step-daughter, Angela Fannin Stewart of Richmond, Texas; two grandson, Christopher Ryan Proffitt, and Michael Proffitt both from San Marcos, Texas; granddaughter, Elizabeth Proffitt of Corpus Christi, Texas; three step-grandsons, K.J. Stewart and Haley of Lowell, Arkansas, Ty Stewart and Abigail of Jonesborough, Tennessee, Matt Stewart and Zoe of Abilene, Texas; two step-great granddaughter, Palmer Stewart of Lowell, Arkansas, and Caroline Stewart of Jonesborough, Tennessee.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Leatrice  Reeves; two brothers, Charles Reeves, Jr., and Bobby Mack Reeves.
