Longtime Rochester cowboy, Kenneth Lynn Beason, rode his horse, Biggen, into Heaven November 1, 2014. Kenneth was 69. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Rochester with Bros. Bud Adkins and Don Harrison officiating. Interment will take place immediately following the service in the family cemetery west of Rochester under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Visitation is planned for Monday evening, November 3, 2014, at the funeral home in Rochester.
One of three children, Kenneth was born September 2, 1945, in Knox City, Texas to Lorene (Williams) and Tolbert Beason. After attending Rochester schools and college in Cisco, he settled into farming and ranching in the Rochester area. He married the love of his life, Jean Took Logsden, on August 30, 1990, in Haskell, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his father, Tolbert; son, Stevie; and grandson, Mitch.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 24 years, Jean, and grandson, Cody of the home; son, Joey and wife Mallori of Rochester; daughter Amy and husband Merik Quinn of Houston; his mother, Lorene Beason of Rochester; sister, Noel and husband Alvin Pittman of Earth, Texas; and brother, Jerry Beason and wife Elaine of Mt. Pleasant, Texas. He is survived by 10 grandchildren; Cody, Tanner, Ross, Mackenzie, Nate, Sawyer, Stephen, Haley, Zachory, Phaden, and many nieces and nephews.
