Kenneth Wade Smith, 76, of Haskell, Texas passed away Friday, April 22, 2016 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. A memorial service will be held in New Home, Texas at the First Baptist Church of New Home on May 14, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.
Kenneth was born on June 4, 1939 to Aubrey Lanceford Smith and Thelma Pauline (Shadden) Smith. He lived in New Home, Texas for 60 years then moved to Haskell, Texas. He was a cotton farmer, build model airplanes and an accomplishing rifleman in school.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey Lanceford Smith and Thelma Pauline (Shadden) Smith; and wife Sharon Smith.
Kenneth is survived by his two daughters, Michele Slavin and husband Ed of Plano, Texas and Kimberly Scott and husband Bob of Minneapolis, Minnesota; son, Kendal Smith and wife Audrey of Arlington, Texas; seven grandchildren, Taylor Chapman, Aubrey Slavin, Connor Slavin, Lan Scott, Hannah Scott, Julia Scott and Jacob Smith; one great-grandchild, Gage Chapman; sister, Kay Brown and husband Larry of Amarillo, Texas; nephew, Shon Brown and Joan of Keller, Texas; niece, Kristal Mooneyham and husband Darren of Amarillo, Texas.
