Leola "Dimple" Eddington, 76, a long time resident of Knox City, TX, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2020. A funeral service will be held at 11:00a.m, Saturday, August 22, 2020 at the Liberty Church of God in Christ, Knox City with Rev. Gene Ward officiating. Burial will follow services at Knox City Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation is planned from 6:00-7:00p.m., Friday, August 21, 2020, at the funeral home, 210 Ave A., Knox City, TX.
Leola Eddington, better known as "Dimple" was born September 28 th 1943, in Waco Texas, to Leamon and Cleola Ware.
Leola moved to Knox City at an early age with her mother, where she attended school at McGee Ward and later obtained her GED. She was also a faithful member of Liberty COGIC, where she taught Sunday school.
S he was a cook and housekeeper on the Bateman Ranch, and then later worked as a housekeeper at Brazos Valley Care Home where she received her CNA. She also worked in Munday at the nursing home for several years.
Leola leaves behind to cherish her memories 5 daughters: Gayle (Paul) McGee of Tyler, Sharon Kay (Nelson) Hawkins of Knox City, Stella Ward of Alaska, Stacy Eddington of Haskell and Lynelle Roberson of DeSoto and one son Alfred (BB) Eddington, 15 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Lloyd Ware, sister Cozetta Mayes, son Tim Roberson and daughter Marilyn Hodges.
