Leonard Alvin Mahan Jr. Of Weinert, Texas has been reunited in heaven with his love of 55 years, Linda Darlene, on October 16th, 2025 at the age of 78.
Visitation is planned from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the funeral home, 304 N 2nd Street, Haskell, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 20, 2025, at New Beginnings Church, 3015 Hwy 6, Rochester, Texas. Rev. Rick Moeller will be officiating under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Haskell.
Leonard Alvin Jr. was born on August 17th, 1947 in San Pablo, California to Leonard Mahan Sr. and Frances Maples. He was the youngest child with four older brothers and three older sisters. While living in West Texas, he met Linda Williams, whom he married on March 13th, 1968. They raised three amazing children and enjoyed 55 years together before Linda's passing in December 2023. He spent the next 22 months making memories with family before joining Linda on Streets of Gold.
He is survived by daughter Michelle Schultz of Weinert, Texas; Sons Leonard Mahan III of Weinert, Texas and Donald Mahan of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters Ruby Laroque and Marjorie Jordan; 6 grandchildren and their spouses, 20 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; parents Leonard Sr. and Frances Mahan; brothers Jim, Bill, Orville and Leroy; Sister Sharon; and great grandson Mitchell Logsdon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in the name of Leonard Mahan Jr. to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
