Lidia S. Lopez, 63, of Haskell, Texas passed away at her home Friday afternoon, September 6, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at St. George Catholic Church with Fr. George Romey officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the services at Willow Cemetery in Haskell under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A rosary is planned for Monday evening, September 9 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
One of 13 children, Lidia Sandoval was born October 20, 1949 in Roby, Texas to Cesar and Eva Sandoval. She married Margarito B. Lopez in Edinburg, Texas on April 25, 1968. Lidia and Margarito made Haskell their home in 1977 where Lidia was a homemaker and a member of St. George Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her father, Cesar Sandoval; and 3 brothers, Erasmo Sandoval, Argumedo Sandoval and Benjamin Sandoval.
Lidia is survived by her husband, Margarito Lopez of Haskell; two daughters, Elizabeth Rangel and husband Randy of San Angelo, Texas, and Marisol Lopez of Haskell; one son, Margarito Lopez, Jr. of Abilene; granddaughter, Cie Avel Rangel; mother, Eva B. Sandoval of San Juan, Texas; 4 sisters, Carolina Sandoval of Olton, Texas, Orfelinda Sandoval, Priscilla Garcia and Patricia Rodriguez all of San Juan, Texas; 5 brothers, David Sandoval of Donna, Texas, Daniel Sandoval, Demetrio Sandoval Gerardo Sandoval all of Olton, Texas and Enrique Sandoval of San Juan, Texas.
