Lois Evalynne Howsley Dunlap

Lois Evalynne Howsley Dunlap, 100, passed away Friday, September 8, 2023. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at the Throckmorton Cemetery with Pastor Jim Wright officiating under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Throckmorton.

Lois was born July 29, 1923, in Throckmorton, Texas to Louis A. and Gracie Jane Hester Howsley. She was 7th of 9 children and her younger years were spent working at the family dairy and movie theater. She married the love of her life Burnis F. Dunlap on April 17, 1942 in Amarillo, Texas. While he was in the Air Force they went to California and finally made their way back home to Throckmorton, in 1945.

Devoted to two sons David and Kevin (Dirk) Dunlap. She was an active member in Christian Church, Methodist Church, 39 Study Club, Eastern Star and Quilting.

She is preceded  by her parents, husband and son David and all of her siblings.

She is survived by her son, Kevin and wife Debbie; Leslie and Charles Stroud, Alexia Price and J.D. Dunlap; grandchildren, Chelsea and James, Conlee and Quintin, Jaycee May and Stella, Bodie Stroud, Tristan Dunlap, and Marlee Stroud; numerous nieces and nephews.
