Lois Richardson, 89, a longtime resident of Knox City, TX, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 10:30AM, at the Abundant Life Church in Knox City. Services are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Knox City.
Lois was born July 7, 1933, in Knox County, TX to Iva (Huckabee) and Fred Reddell, Sr. She was an entrepreneur who owned and operated several retail stores in Knox City, Haskell, and Snyder including Kids Duds, Pat Walker salon, The Carriage House and Cathy's gift shop. She was named woman of the year by Haskell Chamber of Commerce. She was a faithful farmer's wife who embraced hard work and triumphed in hard times. Lois was well known for good cooking especially homemade peach cobblers and cinnamon rolls. She was active in her church and enjoyed serving in prison ministry and the Emmaus community. Her family and friends were her greatest joy.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Marion and husband Derrell of Carthage; three sons, Tad Richardson of Wichita Falls, Flint Richardson and wife Christy of Knox City, and Sid Richardson and wife Monica of Laredo; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren and one on the way; and 1 great-great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Iva and Fred Reddell, Sr; husband, Tommy Richardson; sister Jeanette Phillips; three brothers, Fred Reddell, Jr, Leo Reddell, Royce Reddell; and 1 grandson.
