Loretta "Fern" Ross Singleton, 75, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016 in Breckenridge, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Rule, Texas with Rev. Donna Kay Cole and Rev. Scott Hensley officiating. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Rule Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Visitation is planned for Friday evening, March 11, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home located at 600 Robins Ave., Rule, Texas.
Fern was born December 11, 1940 in Abilene, Texas to Alton Ara Ross and Pauline Olive (Burrow) Ross. On May 29, 1960, she married Marion Alvin " M.A." Singleton at the First Baptist Church in Rule, Texas.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rule,Texas. Fern loved to cook, sew, playing the piano and enjoyed spending time with family, specially her sisters.
Fern is survived by her two daughters, Debra Singleton of Breckenridge, Texas and Karla Starnes and husband John of Plano, Texas; son, Vance Singleton and wife Trisha of Breckenridge, Texas; six grandchildren, Kelby, Kylee and Hanna Singleton, Trent Smith, Jacob and Justin Starnes; sisters, Joyce Bailiff of Center Point, Texas, Raynell Nipper and Kenny Gayle Ross both of Haskell, Texas and Pam Bevel of Rochester, Texas; aunt, Imajean Davis of Abilene, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alton Ara Ross and Pauline Olive (Burrow) Ross; husband, Marion Alvin "M.A." Singleton; sister, Helen Ross Lancaster; and brother, Johnny Ross.
