Madge Leona (Reese) Thomas, longtime resident of Haskell, Texas, passed away Monday morning, October 20, 2014, at her home in Arlington, Texas. Mrs. Thomas was 91. Graveside services will be held at Willow Cemetery at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 22, 2014, with Bro. Morris Johnson officiating. Arrangements were made under the care of Smith Family Funeral Homes.
One of five daughters, Madge was born December 22, 1922, in Sherman, Texas to Era (Long) and Charlie Reese. She married Claude Thomas January 13, 1940, in Haskell. She enjoyed sports and loved watching the Dallas Cowboys. Mrs. Thomas was a retired bookkeeper and a member of the First Baptist Church of Haskell.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Era and Charlie Reese; her husband, Claude Thomas; and her sister, Fran.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by her 2 sons, Charles Thomas and wife Ginger of Grapevine, Texas, and Forrest Thomas and wife Suzanne of Arlington, Texas; 3 sisters, Jeannie, Jackie, and Barbara; 3 grandchildren, Tracy, Kenneth, and DeWayne; and 3 great-great grandchildren, Shanna, Michael, and Katie.
